Huddersfield Uni Fresher’s Week 2011 – that means only one thing, 4,000 new students descending on the town bringing with them a furore of enthusiasm- oh and lots of UV paint and copious amounts of alcohol. Not the easiest of crowds to play to then as we head down to the Student Union Bar ahead of this evening’s gig – “One Night Only”.

Slam Dunk - 10 YEARS YOUNG...

After our weekend away in Brigton for TGE, Est.1987 is truly in Festival mode and has kicked off the season in style! Following on from our seaside excursion we will be keeping things a little closer to home this time and hitting up Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds this Bank Holiday weekend.

CHARLIE SIMPSON - Going it alone at The Tabernacle...

It would appear that the hottest ticket in town last night was for a quirky little venue in London's Notting Hill. The curved Romanesque facade of this converted church was the perfect setting for the rich folky tones of Charlie Simpson as he goes it alone.

Backed by Radio One favourites- Huw Stevens and Zane Lowe, and with number 6 album under thier belts, 2011 is set to be the year when Little Comets make it big!

Now that we have January out of the way and the buzz around "2011's hottest new acts" has died down, we can get down to checking out the real talent that this year is set to offer. Their long awaited debut album In Search of Elusive Little Comets, released 31st January 2011, has been selling out in Hmv's for the past week. Reaching number 6 in the UK Indie Chart, it marks the start of  Little Comets dominating this year: Jessie J who?!
