The Used // Interview & Live Review


The Used are back; “Vulnerable” the new album was released in March and the Utah four-piece are back in the UK, set to rock venues up and down the country. Est.1987 headed down to Manchester’s HMV Ritz to meet up with Quinn [Allman, guitar], Jeph [Howard, bass] and drummer Dan [Whitesides] to chat music, regrets and doing their job to the fullest.

Professor Green // Live Review, Leeds O2 Academy


Stephen Manderson, aka Professor Green has already had a phenomenal career thus far and, since his hit single “Read All About It” claimed the number one spot, things have really taken off, currently on his biggest tour to date. So, Est.1987 headed down to Leeds O2 Academy to see what Professor Green’s sold out live show had to offer.

Bastille // Interview & Live Review


Meet Bastille. In fact you may remember us mentioning them HERE as a band we tipped you to watch out for. What started out as a solo project by Dan Smith [who was born on the French, Bastille Day, hence the name] has now turned into a four-piece full live band with an E.P out on 30th April and an album on the way. We headed down to The Harley in Sheffield on the opening night of the tour and chatted to Dan all things touring, recording and having a “wow this is amazing man” moment.

Deaf Havana // Interview & Live Review

Deaf Havana have had an amazing few months since the release of their acclaimed album "Fools and Worthless Liars" at the end of 2011. Tickets for the recent tour are in hot demand with most selling out and the venues having to be upgraded to a higher capacity. So, Est.1987 jumped at the chance to hang out with the Kings Lynn four-piece to chat leaving 'screaming' in 2006, playing Leeds/Reading Festival and being the best that they've ever been.

If you don’t recognise the name Modestep, well, where have you been? The four cheeky Londoners have been storming the airwaves with their blend of dubstep and rock. The boys have touched down in Manchester as sole support for Welsh rockers Lostprophets. Est.1987 headed down to the show to catch up with Josh, Tony, Matt and Nick [Modestep] to chat influences, Bieber and turning fan points into tattoos!

It has been ten years since Andrew W.K's album "I Get Wet", (including iconic and controversial front cover) was released.  The "Party Hard" singer is back, with full band and currently on a world tour; their biggest to date!

FUTURE TALENT #5- Le Blorr Interview

For the 5th band in our Future Talent series meet Chris Hess and Adam Winn aka “Cookie” and “Hot Damn” aka Le Blorr. Joined on the road by bassist Zac “Sugar Butter” Sullivan the Satellite beach trio is complete.Their blend of psychedelic rock n roll riffs, electronic beats and piercing vocals are captured on debut EP "Bim Bom".
  


Le Blorr are currently touring the UK for the first time after being hand picked by Tom DeLonge to support his band Angels & Airwaves. We headed down to the Leeds show to catch up with the band to chat touring, influences and just how they got their nicknames!

The doors aren’t open for a while but the crowd circles the outside of The Academy in Leeds; murmurs of excitement run through it ahead of tonight’s 02 show. They write albums, write film scores, work on graphic novels and are now in the UK for a select string of dates: yes, Angels and Airwaves [AVA] are back.

FUTURE TALENT #4- Fish Tank Interview

For our Future Talent series this month we have an experimental guitar based prog pop-rock trio from Broadstairs, Kent. Meet Joe Nash, Ed Wetenhall and Joe Jeffcoate AKA- Fish Tank. Recently likened to Tubelord and Biffy Clyro by BBC Introducing, the three-piece have  released an EP to the world and are embarking on a selection of tour dates– all this and they’re still at university.

D.R.U.G.S // Live Review - 02 Academy, Leeds


A year ago and Est.1987 were hanging out with new band Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows [D.R.U.G.S] as they played Leeds Cockpit. We chatted all things music, their fans and being on the top of their game. Read that full interview HERE. Fast forward to the present and tonight we head down to the vastly larger venue, Leeds 02 Academy, to see the “post-hardcore supergroup” take to the stage as the main support for Hollywood rockers “Black Veil Brides”.
