2013 Favourites // Bastille, Interview & Live Review

“Even being number two, or three or four or five is totally unbelievable. We literally can’t believe it, it’s the weirdest thing in the world.” Dan Smith, Bastille
Next up in our look back over 2013 are Brit favourites- Bastille. It’s early evening on Sunday 10th March and Bastille’s debut album “Bad Blood”, after fending off the likes of Emeli Sande, has just been announced as scoring the prestigious number one spot in the Official Top 40 Chart. The band’s recent success may have come as a surprise to some, however a huge underground following has made Bastille the UK’s worst kept secret; word of mouth has seen their fan base grow and grow even before the album release, and quite rightly so.
Est.1987 caught up with Dan and Kyle at their sold out Leeds show…

The Flatliners// Interview with Chris Cresswell & Live Review at Star & Garter, Manchester

Having been a band for over a decade The Flatliners have been on quite the musical evolution, and they’re still only twenty six years old. The Ontario four-piece is back on a mammoth European and UK tour, off the back of new album ‘Dead Language’. We headed down to Manchester’s Star and Garter to catch the live set.
It was great to sit down with front-man Chris Cresswell before the show to chat about touring, why the album was over 3 years in the making and hi love for coloured vinyl.

Don Broco // Live Review & Photo Set, Leeds Met

Headlining their first festival, bagging a top 40 single and playing main stage at Reading and Leeds, Don Broco’s 2013 hasn’t been half bad. The Bedford four-piece is currently storming the UK on another headline tour and, with all dates near sell-outs, it’s the perfect pre-Christmas treat before the guys take time away to work on album number two.

Last time the Bedford four-piece were in Leeds they were storming the main stage at the festival so we were excited to see what their live headline show had to offer. Click below to read our live review and to view all the photos from the show…
