Motion City Soundtrack // Live Review, Leeds Cockpit



Motion City Soundtrack are back on UK shores with a run of dates up and down the country. Their fifth studio album “Go” was released in June and saw them put it out as a joint effort between Epitaph and their own label “The Boombox Generation”.

Leeds welcomed back the Minneapolis five-piece with open arms as they played The Cockpit on the final date of their UK leg. Est.1987 headed down to check them out…

We Are The Ocean // Interview & Live Review


It is a new era for We Are The Ocean. The recent departure of vocalist Dan Brown has seen the band return as a four-piece with a brand new album and sold out tour; not bad going eh?  In what feels like forever since the band toured the UK they hit Manchester’s Deaf Institute for another sold out show.

Est.1987 headed down to check out their live set and caught up with the band pre-show to chat about the new record, the progression of the band, oh and Lord Of The Rings soundtrack.

Pierce The Veil // Interview


In the final instalment of our 3 part special, we sat down for a chat with Vic Fuentes and Jaime Preciado of Pierce The Veil. The San Diego quartet are currently storming the UK on their first headline tour and with every date selling out it has been a whirlwind week for the guys. 

Est.1987 caught up with them backstage at Manchester Moho to chat about the vision for the latest record, Spanish guitar solos and the screaming female fans.

The Maine are currently on their biggest tour to date; The Pioneer World Tour. The mammoth run is soon coming to an end but shows no signs of slowing down.

Pierce The Veil storm the UK- PART 1/3 Interviews with support acts // The Getaway Plan & Crown The Empire

San Diego quartet Pierce The Veil are back in the UK on their first headline tour and dare we say it- this could be the most anticipated tour of recent months! With a lot of the dates already sold out and the others on their way, the bands return to the UK couldn't come sooner.

If you watched The X Factor back in 2010 you may recognise Aiden Grimshaw. After going down a storm on the hit show he disappeared for a little while working hard on his debut album, “Misty Eye”, which was released in August. Now Aiden is embarking on his first, much anticipated UK tour.

Meet Angry Bears The Norwich, Connecticut trio has made short work of making a name for themselves in the local scene, grabbing attention with their high octane, aggressive live shows during which the band is renowned for forging an energetic rapport with their ever growing crowds. And now word is spreading quickly! 

Est.1987 jumped at the opportunity to chat with the guys about touring, the shaping of their sound and staying gold...

We first brought Swedish chart toppers Takida to your attention back in May when they released their debut UK single "You Learn". Now they're hitting the UK and playing a headline date at The Relentless Garage in London on 21st September.
