Leeds Festival Preview // Bastille Interview

Up next in our Leeds and Reading Festival preview series we have Bastille. Having already tipped them for the top in our "Future Talent" section, Est.1987 headed down to Sheffield in April to catch up with main man Dan Smith. 
He chatted to us about all things touring, recording and having a “wow this is amazing man” moment ahead of the bands Leeds and Reading Festival appearance.

We Are Scientists // Live Review, The Duchess York


The Olympics wasn’t the only sell out event last Friday as We Are Scientists, back on UK soil, took to the stage in York. Not quite on the scale of the Olympic opening ceremony, but nevertheless an entertaining evening was expected from the quirky trio.  
Est.1987 headed down to The Duchess to see what the three-piece had to offer, after having to pull some of the tour dates due to lead singer Keith Murray’s throat problems.

Leeds Festival Preview // Pulled Apart By Horses Interview

Here is the latest in our Leeds/Reading Festival previews. And this week it is Leeds' very own Pulled Apart By Horses in the spotlight. They take to the main stage at Leeds on Friday and Reading on Sunday. 
Est.1987 caught up with lead singer Tom Hudson and bassist Rob Lee earlier this year to chat all things touring, why they love Leeds and comedy encounters with Thom Yorke!

FUTURE TALENT #12- Taking Hayley


Taking Hayley only formed in 2010 but you will have no doubt seen them popping up all over the place. From securing a loyal and growing fan base to even playing with Mcfly, the Birmingham four-piece have had a busy eighteen months, and it is only set to get busier.

As Cities Burn // Interview & Live Review


As Cities Burn is back on the road, and it may be for the very last time. After breaking up back in 2009 fans were pleased to hear that the Louisiana band were re-forming and making it to UK shores.

Party In The Park // Live & Backstage Report


A 70,000 strong crowd, chart topping pop acts, soaring temperatures and a stage invasion courtesy of Dermot O’Leary; the biggest free event in Yorkshire was under way this Sunday. Party in the Park, with 96.3 Radio Aire and Leeds City Council pulled it off once again this year with a star-studded line up of both home-grown and international talent. 
Est.1987 were on-hand to bring you all the action from the site, catching up with some of the acts backstage including One Direction, Cover Drive and DJ Fresh.

ORANGE // Interview & Review


 Tim Armstrong of Rancid discovered and signed ORANGE when they were just 16 years old. Fast forward and ORANGE has been a band for over ten years and they’re still in their early twenties.

The LA pop-punkers are back in the UK so Est.1987 took the opportunity to catch up with front-man Joe Dexter to chat the new sound, why he loves the UK and why he hates oranges!
